Authors like Philip Pullman ('His Dark Materials') are auctioning off the naming rights for characters in their books, signed copies, and more (for charity).

Authors for Grenfell Tower is allowing authors to pledge auction items like signed book sets, writing retreats, and even the naming rights to characters in future books!

But hurry — the bidding started on June 19, and ends June 27! This auction is based in the UK, but uses GBP only, so if you’re bidding from another country, make sure you bid in GBP! The winning bids go directly to the Red Cross, which benefits those affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire.

Authors are donating some really awesome items for avid readers (or even unpublished authors) to bid on! Some examples are below:

You could hold the naming rights to a character in someone’s published work!

Including, but not limited to, Philip Pullman — the author of the His Dark Materials series!

Pullman will allow the winner to name a character in his ‘The Book of Dust’ sequel, yet unnamed. Bid here!
