Do you love books? Us, too.

Fictionist Magazine is dedicated to providing book-related news, reviews, interviews, and more to our readers without being affiliated with a publisher. Our content is just that — our own.

Fictionist was created in March 2017, after a Tumblr post highlighted the need for a neutral YA-focused magazine. A group of bloggers got together to make that dream a reality.

We may be a startup, but we started strong — our first author Q&A was with Victoria/V.E. Schwab, NYT Bestselling author, and since then we’ve chatted with authors like Elly Blake, Kendare Blake, Susan Dennard, Cora Carmack, Sarah Mlynowski and more! We’ve written a huge amount of ARC reviews, we’ve worked with publishers and agents to get authors involved in our editorial and podcast content, and we’re not done.

Speaking of podcast content — we’re currently producing a podcast called Fiction Forward, which focuses on gender, sexuality and POC representation in YA books. We already have a couple of authors who are interested in being guests, and our pilot episode is coming soon!

Currently, we’re working on creating a bookish enamel pin line to sell on Etsy. We’re in the process of receiving permission from authors, publishers and production companies to create book-based pin designs.

Once we secure a good amount of funding, we’re also going to start selling print copies of Fictionist Magazine. We’ll be working via pre-orders, and our magazines will be similar to subscription boxes. Once a month, subscribers will receive a magazine with print-exclusive content and bookish goodies to enjoy.
